As hype for The Dark Knight is about to kick into high gear with the trailer (playing with I Am Legend this weekend) I was thinking about one of my many issues with Batman Begins: the music. The producers regrettably cut a lot of classic Batman iconography in Begins, but one that I think hurt the film the most was it's lack of strong music. There were moments when the ambient Zimmer/Howard score fit the mood, but it was forgettable and no part of a Batman film should be forgettable.
So it made me happy to find some YouTubers who synced up Batman Begins with the iconic Danny Elfman and Shirley Walker scores from the Burton Batman and Timm animated series:
Hopefully some memorable themes will be introduced in the new one. And maybe it will inspire the Bond producers to think "hey, maybe we should actually give Bond some good grooves in this next one" since they're following the Begins formula so closely.
I just wanted to post all of the 2007 Team Ellie drawings in one place so people can see and maybe decide they'd like a drawing during the 2008 fundraising.
This was my first attempt at an art auction and pin-up art. I don't really have the readership for eBay art auctions. "Cookie Dough"
The person who won the auction gave it to Melissa, who reproduced the piece in a picture and was kind enough to share her ironical interpretation:
My first commission was an owl for Rachel. I like some of the unused sketches, I may use them elsewhere.
My second commission, a femme fatale for Colleen. This was my first big poster print on my new poster printer, sort of surreal to see my art big.
